Blindraft est un jeune groupe Breton qui vient de sortir sa première demo “Doomsday ». Le style du groupe est du heavy métal. Les influences du groupe vont d’Evergrey en passant par Dream Theater, Metallica voir Children Of Bodom.
Je commence tout de suite par ce qui me plait le moins dans l’album…. Le chant est en anglais, malheureusement l’accent n’est pas terrible, on devine tout de suite le français derrière celui-ci…pourquoi pas un chant en français, le heavy métal peut également se chanter en français… sinon vocalement c’est plutôt bien avec juste ce qu’il faut d’agressivité dans la voix.
Les compositions sont de bonne qualité avec une bonne harmonie des instruments, les claviers n’étant ni trop ni trop peu présents (même si dans certains morceaux j’aurais voulu entendre en peu plus de mélodies de fonds…), et les guitares sont lourdes et bien présentes. Les soli sont bien placés, mélodiques et en aucun cas techniques. Les jeux de guitare sont assez variés. La section rythmique est efficace avec des changements de rythme.
Cette démo laisse une bonne impression finale, dommage qu’elle ne soit pas plus longue d’ailleurs. Le groupe possède un potentiel de création qui ne demande qu’à se développer.

Blindraft is a young group from Brittany which has just released its first demo“Doomsday ». The style of the group is heavy metal. The influences of the group are Evergrey to Dream Theater, Metallica even Children Of Bodom.
I begin rightly by with I appreciate the less in the album… the vocals are in English, but unfortunately the accent is not very good, we can easily guess that a French man is behind this one… why not French vocals, heavy metal can also be sing in French… besides vocally speaking it is rather right with what is needed in aggressiveness in the voice.
The compositions are good ones with a good harmony of the instruments, the keyboards are not neither too much neither too little present (even if in some tracks I would have liked to hear more background melodies…), and the guitars are heavy and well present. The soli are well placed, melodic and in no case technical. The guitars playing are rather varied. The rhythmic section is efficient with changing in rhythm.
This demo leaves a good final impression, besides too bad that it is not longer. The group has a creation potential which needs to be developed.
